OOTD First afternoon in Dublin

Being away for a few days gave me the chance to get photos is some gorgeous new locations.  I couldn't resist this stunning architecture as the background for my first OOTD picture in beautiful sunny Dublin!

I love the pattern on this dress- the flamingo print is so cute & summery and this shape is one of my favourites; it's flattering as well as flirty and retro.  My shoes are nude sandals with floral patterned wedge heels, which are cut off because it was the only way to keep all the other people walking around out of shot!  My sunglasses are a versatlie dark brown tortoise-shell and the shape is classic with a nod to the cat-eye shape, which makes them very wearable.  This bag is one of my best buys of the summer!  The shape and size are practical and classic and the colour goes with everything, but is more seasonal than brown or black.  Also, the fondant shades tick off summer's pastels.

What do you think of my summer look?

The unexplained abscence...

The reason for this is that I've been away for a few days and had no internet.  Sorry about the silence, but I have some OOTD photos from the trip which I will be posting ASAP :)

Suits You!

Suits You!

It's Official:  according to the AW12-13 shows, trouser suits are THE ensemble to be seen in next season.  That's not to say your wardarobe will look like a workwear department- these trouser suits are no shrinking violets!  From Miu Miu's silks to Louis Vuitton's oversized buttons and rounded lapels.  From Prada's kooky patterns to Armani's classic androgynous look, there really is one for everyone.

The A-list have been embracing the trend too, with Leigh Lezark (above) stunning in an elegant but daring yellow suit and Blake Lively showing her love for the trouser suit by wearing them on two occasions- never one to shy away, Blake opted for suits in electric blue and pillar-box red.
So, why not take a risk; ditch the dress and work the trouser suit trend?!
What's your take on this look?

Chanel in London

Chanel in London

Yes, this is the month Karl Lagerfield is bringing a Chanel pop-up shop to London's Selfridges!  So as an homage to the classic French label, I decided to create a set of some of Chanel's timeless, iconic pieces.
So, what are your thoughts on the appearance of those two C's in a London department store; do you wish it was permanent, or will you be studiously avoiding the melee on Oxford Street?

What to wear...Rocking out at Festivals

Festival Fashion

For music lovers, summer means one thing; festivals!  But it can be tricky to pull off that 'I just threw this on but look effortlessly cool' style when you're sleeping in a tent, packing light and battling the ever-changeable weather.  But festivals also give you a chance to try some experimental looks that you wouldn't normally risk.  (where else is it considered normal to wear flowers in your hair and paint stars round your eyes?!)  So I've come up with a few festival fashion guidelines.
Denim cut-offs are a festival staple, but why not give them a new season twist with an on-trend ombre dye or embellishments like studs.  Try pairing these with a fringed tee or tye-dye; these are both trends that are perfect for festivals, but that can seem a little daunting to embrace anywhere else!
No matter how sunny it is, the temperature will drop at night, so an oversized sweater like this star-print one, is an important addition to your festival wardrobe.   Welly boots are also essential to combat the mud!
To keep your hands free when you're enjoying the music, either a cross-body bag or a backpack is the easiest option for your handbag.  A navajo print or colour pop will nail the festival vibe.
Don't forget your sunnies and the look will be complete!

Summer in the City

Summer in the City

This week, we have actually had some *gasp* sun!  And with this warm weather has come my desire to wear (and blog about) some gorgeous summer clothes.  Floral, mui mui style bird prints lace, fruit and veg prints and scarf prints (as seen on the D&G catwalks) are big this summer.  Key shapes include bralets and skater skirts, while cat-eye sunglasses are a key accessory trend.

These pieces are perfect for a chilled out summer day in the city; let's just hope the weather keeps up!

Love her Look...Olivia Palermo

Love her Look...Olivia Palermo

Oh, to have Ms Palermo's wardrobe!!  Printed trousers are big news this summer and Olivia's floral jeans are so pretty.  She keeps the look sophisticated and polished with a scalloped lilac cami and classic Chanel-inspired pink boucle jacket.  The look is finished off with tonal accessories and a natural, pink lip.

Another way to wear the printed rouser trend is to opt for a pair that have a matching blazer to make a punchy, modern, fashion-forward suit.

If you want to create a more laid- back vibe, you could swap your heels for flats and pair the trousers with a cute sweater in one of the colours in the pattern of your trousers.  For a quirky look, try a clashing pattern in your top to embrace both the printed trouser and clashing prints trends.

Fashion and Beauty Buys this Week (30 June- 8 July)

in orange

I have had a bumper week of reatil therapy!  I was at juntion 1 on Wednesday, where I bought 2 summer dresses, wedges and Bobbi Brown cosmetics.  On Thursday I was helping a friend buy birthday presents and I was in town again on Friday, when I bought a shirt, blazer and necklace from Urban Outfitters :)

Has anyone else been shopping this week?  Did you get anything nice?
